On November 15, Wuhan won the 2023 China Leading Smart City Award again at the 2023 Smart City Development Summit Forum hosted by the State Information Center, receiving the award with eight cities including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chengdu. It is reported that this is the third consecutive year that Wuhan has won this award.

In the past three years, Wuhan has continued to strengthen the capacity building of urban transportation platform, strengthen the construction of data governance system, and further consolidate the city's digital public infrastructure. In order to strengthen the construction of digital government and smart city and improve the level of digital governance, in May this year, Wuhan established the Urban Operation Management Center (hereinafter referred to as the Urban Transportation Center) to promote the construction of "one network management" of urban operation. In September, the municipal urban transportation center was built and put into trial operation. The urban transportation platform was connected to the professional command information system of 14 departments, including traffic management, urban management and law enforcement, water affairs and emergency response, basically realizing the "one-screen overview and integrated linkage". It is reported that by the end of December, the urban transportation centers and platforms of all districts in Wuhan will be fully completed and put into trial operation.

According to the three-year action plan for the construction of digital government and smart city, Wuhan has built 10 special scenarios of "one network management", including smart gas, smart weather, and smart bridge and tunnel. Expand the innovative application of low-altitude shared uav, sort out the subdivided application scenarios such as traffic congestion inspection, road facility inspection, stay in dangerous waters, and Yangtze River fishery administration ban, access them to the urban transportation platform in batches, and continuously strengthen the construction of the application scenarios of "one network management" in the city. In addition, by the end of September this year, the construction of seven scenes, including fire digital command and smart wetland, will be completed. By the end of December, 14 scenes, including "social governance topics", "one parking lot" and "seeing a doctor before paying", will be completed.
